Seam Line

Seams that are added to a job serve multiple purposes. The first and most obvious is to indicate two pieces will be joined. LT3 enhances the functionality of seams and recognizes that two pieces will be split along this specially designated line. When nesting, LT3 can automatically split these two pieces apart along the seam line and redraw the seam with the edge style specified (usually an unfinished edge).

Adding a Seam

  1. Click Draw > Seam Line
  2. Select Perpendicular to Edge as the Mode if it is not already selected.
  3. Toggle Offset Seam
    1. On: If the seam is to be drawn with an offset from where clicked.
      1. If On, enter the amount to offset the seam in Offset > OK
    2. Off: If the seam is to be drawn directly where clicked.
  4. Click the location the seam line is to be drawn.
  5. Click the back wall.

A seam line will be drawn from point clicked (with the offset amount) to the back wall.

Straight to Point, Key Notch Left, Key Notch Right, European Left, European Right, and Extended Seam are available to use as the Mode depending on the layout of the job.
